WAGs in b@!#h invasion

STEVEN Gerrard’s fiancée Alex Curran yesterday hit back at rival WAG Jamelia — saying her boyfriend is not famous enough.
Singer Jamelia had recently branded footie wives and girlfriends “leeches” and said Alex would be lost without England star Steven.
But Alex, 24, said she does not even know the name of Jamelia’s partner — Millwall striker Darren Byfield. And she said Steven, 26, thinks Byfield is “lower than a non-league player”.

Alex, 24, added: “I couldn’t believe what she said about me.
“I have never met her but she accused me of getting by on three grapes a day, suggesting I’m anorexic or something.
“She said she was disgusted she even knew my name. It’s because I’m engaged to one of the country’s most famous footballers. I can’t help that.

The leggy blonde has two daughters with Steven, Lilly-Ella, two, and Lexie, five months.
Jamelia, 25, is engaged to Darren, who joined League One side Millwall from Gillingham this year.
She said recently: “Footballers’ wives are like leeches, feeding off their partner’s success.
“God forbid if Alex Curran split up with Steve Gerrard. Who would she be then?”

· WAYNE Rooney’s fiancée Coleen McLoughlin yesterday praised wives who work.
Coleen, 20, said she would go to college to become an actress or journalist if her lavish lifestyle ended tomorrow.

September 10, 2006:

Alex Curran, fiancee of England and Liverpool footballer Steven Gerrard, relaxes with girlfriends by the pool of her Los Angeles hotel today. She has been enjoying a girlie weekend of shopping and sunbathing in California, away from her recent problems with the law in Britain..The 23-year-old WAG was arrested outside a Liverpool Chinese restaurant last month for allegedly assaulting a teenage girl during an argument. Police released Curran on bail, after hearing that she allegedly thumped the girl first with a bottle, then with her handbag..But blonde mum-of-two Alex looked as though she was taking the heat in her stride today, as she soaked up the sun in LA.
